Volleyball Takes 3rd Place In The Country

The Penn State DuBois volleyball team had a chance this game to do something that they have never done, place third in the country at the end of the season.  The Lady Lions went into the 3rd and 4th place game knowing well their competition.  Having beaten Greater Allegheny twice in regular season play and losing to them once in the PSUAC tournament, Coach Alberts knew that this game would be a dog fight.

The Lady Lions were up for the challenge however, and started off strong with a flurry of kills from Sydney Kaschalk.  DuBoishad 15 kills in the first set to take a commanding 25-12 first set victory.  The 2nd and 3rd sets were much closer, but DuBois was playing their game today.  With a 24-22 lead in the 3rd set, Catherine Gregory would put down a service ace to seal the deal, take the match win, and make DuBois history in finishing 3rd in the USCAA National Championship Tournament.

Kaschalk would end the day with 13 kills , 14 digs, 4 blocks, and a .632 hitting percentage.  This solidified Kaschalk's place on the USCAA All-Tournament Team.  Skylar Ceprish would put down 11 kills. Kyara Girvan would add 13 digs, and Catherine Gregory would put up 33 assists for the Lady Lions.

Kaschalk, Gregory, and Ceprish were also all named to the 2021 USCAA National All-American Team.
