Softball Wins In Extra Innings

The softball team travelled to PSU New Kensington this afternoon for a double header against the PSUAC opponent.  The first game saw a tight one as extra innings would be needed to decide the outcome.  Fortunately, we had the bats going in the extra frame as DuBois would score 2 runs in the top of the 8th inning thanks to a sacrifice fly by Caitlyn Watson that scored Megan Hyde, and a single from Abby Pentz that scored Jordan Bundy.  That would be enough for DuBois to win the game, 6-4.  Both Hyde and Kelsey Stuart would pitch 4 innings for DuBois with Stuart striking out 5 for the win.  Bundy would go 3 for 4 in the game with 2 RBI's, while Stuart would go 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored.

Game 2 would be less fortunate for DuBois in the end.  Even with a 5 run, 4th inning that would tie the game at 7 each, DuBois would allow New Kensington to score 2 in the 5th inning that would eventually be the difference as DuBois would drop game 2, 9-7.  Hann Richey would go 2 for 4 with 3 RBI's, with Pentz going 2 for 4 with 2 RBI's.
