DuBois Takes 2 On The Road

DuBois Takes 2 On The Road

The Penn State DuBois softball team took to the road for a pair of games this weekend against Mont Alto.  Both games would go into extra innings, and both games would have the same outcome.  Lizzy Scott would get the call to start game 1 for DuBois.  Giving up 6 walks would allow Mont Alto to keep the game close, and eventually tie the game in the bottom of the 7th inning.

The top of the 8th would see DuBois put up 2 runs however, and although Mont Alto would bring in 1 run in the bottom of the inning, DuBois would maintain the lead to win the game in extra innings.

Abby Pentz would have herself a game as she went 2 for 3 from the plate, have 4 RBI's, and include a double, triple, and a stolen base to add to her game resume.  Scott would strike out 7 batters on the game.

In game 2 Kelsey Stuart would get the start to pitch for DuBois, and keep Mont Alto silent through the first 3 innings.  DuBois would put up 5 runs in the top of the 3rd for the first runs of the game, and although they wouldn't score again until the game went into extra innings, they made sure not to go quietly.  With 11 runs in the top of the 8th inning DuBois would have all of the momentum they needed, and would go on to win game 2, 16-11.

Pentz would go big again for DuBois with a 3 for 5 appearance and 3 RBI's.  Paige Pleta would also drive in 3 runs, and add a double in the game.  Stuart would strike out 8 batters in her outing.

DuBois is now in 3rd place in the PSUAC, and will face Juniata College on the road Tuesday afternoon.
