DuBois Takes Down Mont Alto In The Second Round

In the 2nd round of the PSUAC Championship Tournament, DuBois took on the #1 seed in the west, Mont Alto.

DuBois would be the away team, and were able to get their bats going first and fast.  With a leadoff double from Skylar Ceprish, Brooke Harvey would score on the next batter as Brooke Harvey would hit a single up the middle.  Brittney Williams would drive in Cierra Karly Rumsky and Malliah Schreck for 2 more runs.  Cierra O'Shell would then cross the plate after a fielders choice by Larissa James-LaBranche.  DuBois would end their first at bat with 4 runs.

Lizzy Scott would be in the circle for DuBois, and would hold Mont Alto to only 1 run through 4 innings.  In the top of the 2nd, DuBois would start all over again with their hitting and scoring.  Aspen Bishop and Schreck would have back to back doubles to score 1 run each before O'Shell would single to score Schreck.  Again, James-LaBranche would score O'Shell to get the 4th and final run of the inning for DuBois.

DuBois would score 2 more in the 4th before a scoring party in the 5th thanks to another team effort of great hitting. Mont Alto would start a rally as they scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th, but it was too little too late as DuBois would go on to win the game in 5 innings, 16-8.

Scott would finish the game with 6 strikeouts, and allowing only 3 earned runs.  Schreck would go 3 for 4 with 3 RBI's, and added 1 double, and 1 triple.  Bishop had 2 RBI's on 2 doubles, and Williams would total 3 RBI's to help the cause for DuBois.

DuBois will play in the PSUAC semifinals tomorrow after the snow pushed games back today, game time 3:00 pm.
