DuBois Advances to the Championship Game

DuBois baseball defeated UC-Clermont this afternoon in the semi-final game at the USCAA World Series.  McLain Welshans started from the mound for DuBois and kept Clermont scoreless until the 4th inning.  DuBois would strike first though as they scored 4 runs in the top of the 3rd inning.  DuBois would score runs in the 5th, 6th, and 7th innings to break the game open.  Clermont would score 2 more runs in the bottom of the 7th but wouldn't be enough to beat DuBois.

Welshans would pitch 3 and 2/3rds innings giving up only 3 hits.  Jeff Romano would come in relief for Welshans and go the rest of the way with 3 strikeouts and only 1 run scored.  Brandon Sicheri would go 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's while Tyler Yough would go 1 for 4 with 2 RBI's and a stolen base.  Nicholas Cagliola would go 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored and Cory Lehman would hit for 2 RBI's. 

DuBois will play in the championship game Thursday at 6:30pm at Shower's Field.
