Baseball Defeats #1 Seed To Advance In World Series

DuBois baseball faced the #1 seeded Miami-Hamilton University Harriers in the 2nd round of the USCAA World Series this morning.  Taylor Boland got the start on the mound for DuBois.  Giving up 1 run in the bottom of the 1st inning but would quickly come back with 2 runs of their own to take the lead.  Miami-Hamilton would take the lead back with 2 runs of their own in the bottom of the 3rd, but DuBois bats weren't done.  In the 5th inning DuBois would put up 3 more runs, 2 of those coming from a pinch-hit single from Logan Wagner that would bring in Kyle Elensky and Brandon Sicheri

Boland would give up only 1 more run to the Harriers and would pitch a complete game for the win.  Grant Lillard would go 3 for 4 with 2 doubles for DuBois. Tylor Herzing Brett Beith, and Lillard would each have an RBI to add to Wagner's 2 RBI's.

DuBois will play in the semi final game this evening at 7:30pm at Shower's Field.
