DuBois Sweeps The Series

DuBois Sweeps The Series

Penn State DuBois baseball would travel to Fayette today to finish up the series with a double header.  Game 1 had Nolan Walters on the mound.  Walters would start off with some insurance as DuBois would put 2 runs on the board in the 1st inning off of Logan Wagner's single that scored both Tyler Yough and Cory Lehman.

DuBois would get 4 more runs in the 2nd to add to the lead, and they would keep rolling.  Walters would go 4 and 2/3rds innings with 4 strikeouts before Jeff Romano, Cole Knable, and Braiden Blair would come in relief to close the game out with the win, 13-5.

Lehman would have a good day at the plate as he would go 3 -3 with 3 RBI's, score 3 runs, and hit 2 doubles.  Wagner would finish with 4 RBI's off of a 3-4 day from the box, and a double.

DuBois would start off game 2 much the same way, but with a little more spark.  Daniel Stauffer would hit a lead off home run to get things going early.  That home run ties Stauffer with the all time DuBois home run record at 15 with Clayton Butler.  Stauffer broke the single season record earlier this year.

Trevor Hanna took the mound for DuBois, and pitched the complete game for the win.  Stauffer would hit for 3 RBI's that included a double.  Tyler Yough went 3-3 with a double as well, and both Brett Beith and Wagner would hit a triple in the game as DuBois would go on to sweep the series with the 11-6 win.
