DuBois Splits On the Road

DuBois Splits On the Road

Penn State DuBois took to the road today in a double header against Greater Allegheny.  More of a pitcher's duel than anything in game one, as both pitchers would go the distance in game one.

Brandon Orsich would control the mound for DuBois, and give up only 3 hits on the day.  DuBois bats were a little slow going, but they would get a run in the 2nd inning.  Daniel Stauffer would double before Cory Lehman would reach on an error to score Stauffer.  In the 3rd DuBois would strike again with 2 more runs.  Thayne Morgan, Toner Corl, and Joey Dipietro would all single, and Morgan and Corl would both score.

Those would be the only runs for DuBois, but it would be enough as they would go on to win game one, 3-1.  Orsich would throw a complete game, allow only 1 run, and strikeout 8 batters.

Morgan and Dipietro would both be 2 for 3 on the game.

Game two saw Morgan Bell on the mound picking up where Orsich left off in the first game.  Bell would throw a complete game, and have 6 strikeouts, but would give up 4 runs.  DuBois bats couldn't give much of a hand in this one either, as they only scored 2 runs late in the game.  One run came in the 6th as Talon Falls would get Morgan across home plate, and another in the 7th as Corl would score Brandon Sicheri. DuBois would drop game two, 4-2.

DuBois will be back home for a double header against Greater Allegheny on Sunday at Showers Field.
