Penn State DuBois is excited to announce the signing of local softball player, Emma Suplizio. Emma is a senior at DuBois Central Catholic and will continue her academic and softball career across town.

Penn State DuBois Head Coach, Jason Kern praised the new member of the softball program. "Em is hard working, focused, and I've seen her get on hitting streaks where she is just locked in.  When she's in that zone, she is hard to get out", Kern said. Kern also likes the fact that she has played in some big games at DCC. "Em has played a lot of softball because of the success DCC has had recently. As a freshman, she was part of the team that went to the PA State Finals. She missed the next year due to Covid cancelling softball season, but DCC was able to make a deep run in the postseason this past year as well. She has big game experience and she is accustomed to playing on turf here at Heindl Field, which is important."  Kern also referenced DCC Assistant Coach, Michelyn Gulvas as a contributor to the evaluation of Suplizio. "Coach Michelyn has become a great friend since my hiring in 2017. She is the older sister of our Associate Head Coach, Lauresa Gulvas. Michelyn is able to provide great feedback to not only local softball talent, but opponents she coaches against throughout the year. I think it's important for college coaches to have those kinds of connections on the high school and travel ball levels", Kern said.

Penn State DuBois is coming off a 4th place finish in the Small College World Series and opens the 2022 season in early March in Florida.
