PSU DuBois wrestlers visit Washington & Jefferson

Jan. 23, 2013

The Penn State DuBois wrestlers return to action tonight as the travel to Washington, PA to compete against NCAA Div. III opponent Washington & Jefferson College at 8pm.   W & J is a member of the Presidents' Athletic Conference and have a tradition of excellent wrestlers over the past 25 years.  W & J is located in rich high school wrestling territory of Washington County and neighboring counties that have outstanding high school programs to recruit from.

DuBois is coming off lopsided victories last week over relatively new PSUAC programs Beaver 58-0 and New Kensington 42-6.   The match against W & J will be a big step up in competition and will set the tone for the tough competition they will face in February against Penn College and Apprentice School (Norfolk, VA), in preparation for the NCWA Mid-East Qualifier.

The NCWA National Championship tournament will be in Allen, TX, where PSU DuBois hopes to build upon their first NCWA All-American – 8th place finisher Chike Okolo.

Expected starters for tonight's match are:  125 Landon Clayton, 133 Austin Sheibley, 141 Garrett Hildebrand, 149 Kasey Haines, 157 Shane Alterio, 165 Jake Himes, 174 Ryan Terwilliger, 184 Stephen Terwilliger, 197 Cliff Hill, 285 Manny Aguilar or Chris Minarchick.
