A big first victory for the Penn State DuBois women's basketball team on Sunday as they defeated Apprentice. DuBois had control of the game from the tip as they would outscore Apprentice 25-12 with even distribution coming from the Lady Lions as 7 of them would score in the first frame.
By halftime DuBois took the lead 35-20 after a dominant second quarter performance from Elizabeth Hungiville (Smethport, PA) as she would pull down 10 rebounds and contribute 6 points to give her team a comfortable lead going into the half.
DuBois would remain in control the rest of the way as Frances Milliron (Strattanville, PA), Natalie Bowser (Knox, PA), and Hungiville would all see double figures in scoring. DuBois out rebounded Apprentice 52-34 with a 24-rebound performance from Hungiville.
DuBois will be back in action on Tuesday evening at the PAW Center in DuBois for a 5:30 pm tip time as they host Villa Maria.
