The 3^rd ranked Penn State DuBois Lady Lions basketball team played in the first round of the PSUAC playoffs last night against 2^nd ranked PSU Fayette.  DuBois got out to an outstanding lead in the 1^st quarter as they went up 26-14.  Fayette came back with a punch of their own in the 2^nd quarter to pull back within 4 points before heading to the locker room.

The 3^rd quarter stayed a pretty even battle, but DuBois gained another edge by going up by 5 headed into the 4^th quarter.  Malliah Schreck (Emlenton, PA) then took over and did what she has done all year.  In the 4^th quarter alone, Schreck secured 9 rebounds and dropped in 11 points.  Fayette couldn't withstand this surge by the Schreck and her Lady Lions, and DuBois would go on to win the first round of the playoffs by a score of 68-62. 

DuBois held Fayette to only 27% shooting from the field, and outrebounded them by 10.  Schreck, who was just announced as the USCAA National Player of the Week would end the game with 26 points and 24 rebounds.  Cierra O'Shell (Glendale, PA) and Lexey Schick (Rimersburg, PA) would help the cause by dropping in 14 and 13 points, respectively.  Schick would also dish out 5 assists on the night.

DuBois will now travel to Philadelphia for the 2^nd round of the PSUAC playoffs to face the eastern divisions number one ranked PSU Brandywine on Friday.
