Sydney Shaw Signs With PSUD Basketball

Penn State DuBois Women's Basketball is proud to announce that Sydney Shaw from Tyrone High School will continue her basketball career at the DuBois Campus of Penn State.  A three-year starter and four-year letter winner at Tyrone, Sydney helped the Golden Eagles advance to the PIAA State Playoffs this past season.  Sydney was selected the past two years as a 1st Team Mountain League All-Star as well as a participant in the 2019 Altoona Mirror Basketball Classic.

The 5'10" forward averaged 16.3 points per game and 6.0 rebounds her senior season while finishing her career with 1233 career points and 252 career three pointers.  She set Tyrone school records by connecting on 13 three pointers in a single game and also holds the school record of 41 points in a game.  Sydney has been accepted to Penn State DuBois in the Sciences field with a concentration towards the Pre-Medical field.

"Sydney will be another perfect fit at Penn State DuBois.  She is a good athlete and an exceptional student.  She has a very accurate shooting touch and is an aggressive defender that will add size to our line-up.  I'm excited that she will be joining our program at PSUD," stated PSUD head coach Pat Lewis.
