Lauren Young's (Bellefonte, PA) 15 rebounds and 22 points brought a good start to the season for the Penn State DuBois Women's Basketball Team.

The visiting Central Penn Knights came in to DuBois with a determination, and they started off with a good burst of energy in the first quarter.  Coach Lewis wasn't going to have any of it in his house though as he quickly calmed his players first game jitters.

The Knights Ja'Lynn Burton-Jones looked to lift her team a to a higher level as she put up a 25 point, 13 rebound, and 6 steal performance.  DuBois wasn't about to allow however, as they kept battling on the boards, and contesting every shot.  DuBois ended the game outrebounding the Knights by 14, including scoring 15 second chance points.

Maddie Sprankle (Johnstown, PA) dished out 9 assists with 10 points, and Morgan Silvis (Tionesta, PA) put an additional 13 points up to help the Lady Lions to a 73-66 victory over Central Penn.

The Lady Lions will be back in action at home on Saturday, November 10th at 1:00 pm as they host Allegany College of Maryland.
