PSUD Women Earn Road Win

The Penn State DuBois Women's Basketball team picked up a road victory Wednesday as they beat Westmoreland CCC (6-5) by the score of 63-52. PSUD improves to (8-3) on the season with the win.

DuBois trailed by six-points at the end of the second quarter 26-20. But PSUD fought their way back into the lead, thanks to a strong defensive effort and 60% shooting in the second half. PSUD went on to control the second half by outscoring WCCC 43-26 to pick up the win.

"We started playing well as a team right before the semester break and have picked right up where we left off in December. Westmoreland is a really good team so it makes this win even more impressive," stated Coach Pat Lewis. "The young ladies are working hard at practice and that's paying off right now."

Melody Young (Otto Eldred) 18 points, Hope Bridge (Punxsutawney) 17 points and Kristen Williams (Eisenhower) 13 points all scored double figures in the game. Kaelyn Gruver (Redbank Valley) hauled in a team high 8 rebounds and blocked 2 shots.

PSUD return to action on Friday, January 6th, at Central Penn College. Tipoff is at 8:00.
