PSUD Women start season 2 -0 with win over Westmoreland County

DuBois Lady Lions Win Second Game of the Season

The Penn State DuBois women's basketball team (2-0) picked up its first home win as they topped Westmorland County Community College, 82-60 on Tuesday night.  WCCC came into the game with a 1-0 record.

The Lady Lions jumped out to a 34-28 halftime lead and never let the lead drop below 10 points in the second half to secure the win.  "I felt that the girls really stepped it up defensively tonight and we really controlled the tempo of the game by controlling our turnovers." stated DuBois coach Pat Lewis.

The Lady Lions had ten players score and shot 41% from the field and 71% from the foul line while forcing Westmoreland into twenty-seven turnovers.

The Lady Lions were lead in scoring by Kristy Hanes (Elk County) as she scored 24 points and Melody Young (Otto Eldred) chipped in 12 points.

The Lady Lions return to action as they host the Butler County Community College, Tuesday, November 17, 2015.  Game time is 6:00.
