The Penn State-DuBois women's basketball team finally put its first notch in the win column with a 72-68 victory over Central Penn Monday evening behind a career night by Patience McCullough.
The win didn't come easy for PSU-DuBois (1-4) as it struggled to contain Central Penn's Jasmine Robinson whose 38 tallies accounted for more than half of its points.
"You usually don't play a junk defense, like a triangle-and-2, the entire game but in this situation, you couldn't leave either one open," PSU-DuBois head coach Pat Lewis said. "(Robinson) is just unbelievable. She took 41 shots and that was with someone on her."
But PSU-DuBois answered behind Patience McCullough, who scored 23 and hauled in a game high 16 rebounds, recording a double-double. "That could have been the best game of (Patience's) career," Lewis said.
Two other PSU-DuBois players finished in double-digit scoring, Ashley Brown had 13 and Jordan Fairman came in with 10.
