Penn State DuBois women drop 73-64 contest to Westmoreland County CC

Nov. 26, 2012

The DuBois Lady Lions played a solid game in a loss to a quality Westmoreland County team on Monday evening at home.  Westmoreland County was led by Hannah Facsik's 20 points, 13 rebounds and Jasmine Belt chipped in 14 points.  Coming up big off the bench was Kerri Zelenak who scored 18 points while shooting 7 for 7 from the free throw line in the second half.

PSU DuBois trailed most of the contest by 4 or 5 points, always hanging in the game, but could not get over the hump against the balanced play of WCCC.   PSU DuBois was led by Karlee Cyphert and Karly Carnovale with 14 and 13 points respectively.  Jordan Fairman came to life in the 2nd half scoring 11 of her 13 points after the intermission and collecting 12 rebounds on the game. Kiley lewis chipped in 9 points while Patience McCullough had 8 and Linsey Mizic had 6 points.

The Lady Lions will travel to PSU Schuylkill and Brandywine to open conference play this weekend.  They will return home to play PSUAC rival Beaver on Dec. 5th at 6pm.
