Penn State DuBois Women's basketball set to start 2012-13 campaign

Penn State DuBois women's basketball and Coach Pat Lewis are coming off their most successful season in 2011-12 which saw the team finish with a 16-7 record and challenge for the top spot in the PSUAC into the last week of the season.

Fast forward to October 2012; Coach Lewis has only three returners from last years team and six players in total.  The goals are the same for Coach Lewis' squad, compete for the PSUAC title and play hard for 40 minutes.  Tough play has been a trademark of the PSUD Lady Lions under Pat Lewis, he gets the most out of his players.

Returing for the 2012-13 season are juniors Karlee Cyphert (North Clarion HS), Patience McCullough (Purchase Line HS), and sophomore Karly Carnovale (Elk County Catholic HS).  Newcomers include Jordan Fairman ( DuBois Area HS), Kiley Lewis (Cameron County HS), and Linsey Mizic (Pottsgrove HS).  Leadership is important and will be provided by the three upperclassmen on and off the court.

The season gets underway with two home games to start the season; Nov. 14th DuBois host Pitt-Titusville and Nov. 17th against Hilbert College.  The PSUAC will be a very competitive with perinnial powers PSU Beaver and Fayette as the teams to beat.  PSU Fayette is the defending conference champion with much of their championship team returning for the 2012-13 season.
