PSUD Lady Lions Win in OT 93-91

Penn State DuBois Lady Lions escaped the high scoring affair on Saturday afternoon against Central Penn College; led by 29 points driven home by senior Tessa Vargas (Sheffield) and double-doubles registered by Kelsey Rini (East Forest) 13 points/12 rebounds and Patience McCullough (Purchase Line) 12 points/10 rebounds.  Kyley Mickle (Port Allegany) connected with a career high 15 point to contribute to the win.

This entertaining ball game had the teams knotted at 79 at the end of regulation, with eight lead changes in the final ten minutes of regulation and five lead changes in the overtime.  PSUD clinched the win by connecting on 4 of 5 free throws down the stretch in overtime.  Karlee Cyphert (North Clarion) had 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists to help the cause.

PSUD improves to 12-4 overall and 7-1 in PSUAC conference play.  The Lady Lions return to action with a home tilt on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 against PSU Beaver in a key conference game.  Game time 6:00. 

Both teams are ranked in the top 20 in the latest USCAA Coaches Poll with PSU DuBois at #16 and PSU Beaver at # 11.
