Penn State DuBois Women Rebound to earn come from behind win

PSUD Women Improve to 11-4

The PSUD women's basketball team survived a first half that saw the DuBois team being outrebounded by a two to one margin and a horrible shooting percentage against PSU Greater Allegany.  When halftime rolled around, PSUD were down by twelve, trailing 40-28.

The second half was a whole different game for the DuBois Lady Lions as they rebounded back into the game, literally.  Kelsey Rini (13 rebounds) and Patience McCullough (17 points, 11 rebound) took over the inside game to propel PSUD to a 70-59 victory.

Tessa Vagas poured in 22 points and Karley Carnovale was a perfect 6-6 from the foul line to finish with 9 points.  Karlee Cyphert hauled in 6 rebound and handed out 3 assists in the game.  "All the girls played well in the second half tonight.  Schirmer Topolski, Pernesky, and Mickle also played a critical role in taking good care of the ball when the game was still up in the air." stated PSUD coach Pat Lewis.  He added, "I am proud of them for the way that they fought back after being down by 12 at the half."

The PSUD Lady Lions remain in first place in the PSUAC and return to action on Saturday, January 28th at 1:00 against non-conference foe, Central Penn College.
