Great  WEEKEND for Lady Lion Basketball

Saturday afternoon brought defending PSUAC Champion, PSU Brandywine to town.  In a close game all the way, Jenna Matzinger and Lynnie Schirmer hit key foul shots at the end of the game to seal the victory as PSUD improved to 5-2 (2-1 league) with the 74-70 victory.  "Everyone played a huge roll in this win against a very strong, well coached team", said DuBois head coach Pat Lewis.  He went on to say, "Beth Pernesky hit our only two 3's in the first half, Lauren Topolski had a career high 6 rebounds while Kyley Mickle took three huge charges for the team and Karlee Cyphert played her ever tenacious defense like she does every game".

Everyone scored against the defending champions, in large part, because of the point guard play of Karly Carnovale and Lynnie Schirmer.  Leading the charge was Jenna Matzinger (16), Tessa Vargas (15), and Patience McCullough (13).  Kelsey Rini pulled down a season high (13) rebounds.

Friday night, PSUD hosted PSU Schuylkill and began the weekend with a strong win against the visitors, 74-63.  Nine players scored for DuBois while being led by Tessa Vargas' 18, Kyley Mickle's 12 while Karly Carnovale and Kelsey Rini chipped in 9 each.  Karlee Cyphert, Kelsey Rini, and Patience McCullough combined for 23 rebounds to help control the boards.  Karlee Cyphert and Lynnie Schirmer dished out 8 assists in the contest.
