
DuBois softball had a great day for a double header at Heindl field this evening as they hosted PSUAC opponent, Fayette. Game 1 was exciting offensively for DuBois as they scored 5 runs in the first 2 innings to give starting pitcher, Megan Hyde some breathing room throughout the game. Madison Siterak would go 3 for 4, have 2 RBI's, and score 3 runs in the game. Caitlyn Watson would knock 2 runs in as well, along with 1 each from Abby Pentz and Kelsey Stuart. Hyde would pitch the complete game allowing only 2 runs and striking out 5.
Kelsey Stuart would start in the circle for DuBois in game 2 and the offense would be a little different this game. DuBois would pick up the first run of the game in the 3rd inning, but Fayette would come back strong with 3 runs in the top of the 4th to take the lead, 3-1. In the bottom of the 4th Larissa James-LaBranche would double to score Paige Pleta to make it a 1 run game that would las tuntil the bottom of the 7th inning. With the bases loaded, Kelsey Stuart would hit a 2 run single to walk it off and win the game, 4-3.
Staurt would also get the win from the mound with a complete game, 5 strikeout showing. DuBois will be back in action on Friday when they will host PSU Hazleton for a 2:00 pm start to the double header.
