Penn State DuBois Softball hosted PSU Scranton this afternoon at Heindl Field for a PSUAC double header. It was senior recognition day for DuBois, and the ladies didn't disappoint their home crowd.
Brooke Harvey started the day off in game 1 from the circle, and would stay there the entire game. DuBois would strike first in the run column in the bottom of the 1st inning as they put 5 runs on the board. They would continue to add runs each inning, and eventually reach the 15 run rule mark with their explosive bats. Brittney Williams had a huge game going 3 for 3 from the plate with 6 RBI's to lead the team. Aspen Bishop added a double, and Hailey Kuhn drove in 3 runs herself.
Cierra O'Shell added 2 stolen bases, and Harvey would throw a complete game shutout with 8 strikeouts, and allowing only 2 hits.
Game 2 saw Williams as the starting pitcher, and she picked up right where Harvey left off. Williams would also add another 2 RBI's as she went 2 for 3 from the plate. Bishop would add another 2 doubles and 2 RBI's, and Malliah Schreck would go 3 for 3 on the game, scoring 3 runs as well.
Williams would pitch a complete game shutout as well, allowing only 4 hits, and striking out 8 batters.
DuBois will play Monday when they travel to Scranton for another double header.
