PSUD Men's basketball split road contests in PSUAC action

The Penn State DuBois Men's Basketball team split PSUAC road games this weekend.  Friday night's game proved to be a heart-breaker as PSUD lost to Penn State Wilkes-Barre 53-52.  The Nittany Lions held a 24-22 lead at the half, and pushed the lead to 13 points with 7 minutes remaining.  PSUD then began to unravel.  After a few turnovers, technical fouls, and missed free throws, PSUD found themselves with a 52-50 lead.  On the ensuing possession, Wilkes-Barre hit a 3 point with 6 seconds left that proved to be the game winner.  Penn State DuBois was led by Chris Dickison and Jovan Brown with 15 points and 14 points respectively.

PSUD bounced back on Saturday afternoon against North Division leading, Hazleton winning 74-66.  DuBois used solid defensive pressure and up-tempo offense to jump out to a 35-28 halftime lead.  Hazleton opened the second half strong after making some halftime adjustments, and took a 3 point lead.  PSUD responded and regained the momentum with 10 minutes left in the game.  Penn State DuBois handled the trapping pressure late in the game which resulted in easy baskets to seal the victory.  Penn State DuBois was led by Jovan Brown's 18 points.  Will Welles turned in a strong effort with 15 points and 9 rebounds.  Woody Mitchell reached double figures with 13 points, and Isaiah Jordan turned in an all-around game with 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.
