Schneider Hired To Lead Penn State DuBois Golf

DuBOIS, Pa. – Penn State DuBois athletics has announced the selection of John Schneider as its new head golf coach for the upcoming fall season.

A former assistant golf professional, Schneider started his career in golf at Outdoor Country Club in York before moving on to a similar position at Treasure Lake, a semi-private residential development located near DuBois, which is home to two Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) rated golf courses. While his professional career has taken him outside of golf now, Schneider has still won several club championships at Beechwoods Golf Course, located in Falls Creek.

"I am very excited to be the new golf coach at Penn State DuBois," Schneider said. "I look forward to passing on some of the strategies I have used in competition to each player I have the opportunity to work with. I look forward to leading Penn State DuBois in competition in the PSUAC and USCAA."

No stranger to the campus, Schneider has been the public address announcer for several sports at Penn State DuBois, including baseball, softball and men's and women's basketball. His voice has also been heard during numerous championship tournaments, including for the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). Schneider has also worked as a public address announcer for several minor league baseball teams.

"John bring a wealth of knowledge and experience from his years as PGA teaching professional," said Ken Nellis, athletic director at Penn State DuBois. "We look forward to John building a team that will win PSUAC championships in the years to come."
