Lewis Steps Down As PSUD Golf Coach

After starting the program from scratch and two very successful years (52-14-2), Coach Pat Lewis has decided to step down from the helm of the fledging Penn State DuBois Golf program. Besides coaching golf, Pat has been the PSUD Women's Basketball coach for the past eight seasons.

"Two years ago, Ken Nellis, the Athletic Director, asked me if I would help him start the golf program at PSUD", stated Lewis.  "The program got off to a fantastic start because of Ken's and Chancellor Melody Hatch's support of building a strong athletic program here at PSUD.  I am stepping aside with four starters coming back and knowing the program has a solid base."

During Penn State DuBois' first season of golf (2013-14), they produced a (31-7) record and captured two tournaments during the regular season.  PSUD went on to capture the 2013 PSUAC Golf Championship held in State College and took 8th place in the USCAA National Tournament. At the completion of the 2013-14 season, Coach Lewis was awarded PSUAC Coach of the Year honors.

In PSUD's second season (2014-15), they finished regular season with a   (21-7-2) record and won two tournaments.  PSUD golfers finished the 2014 PSUAC Golf Championship in 3rd place.

In two short seasons, Coach Lewis had six PSUAC All-Conference selections and two USCAA Academic All-Americans.  He also guided PSUD to an overall record of (52-14-2).

Lewis plans to continue coaching the PSUD Women's Basketball team.

Penn State DuBois will begin an immediate search for a successor.  If interested, please contact Mr. Ken Nellis, Athletic Director, at 814-375-4857 or by e-mail at kcn3@psu.edu.
