Varsity Golf Program Added To Campus Athletics

DuBOIS - Chancellor Melanie Hatch and Athletic Coordinator Ken Nellis have announced plans to add a men's and women's golf team to the list of intercollegiate athletic programs at Penn State DuBois.  The co-ed team will be coached by Pat Lewis, who is also the Penn State DuBois women's basketball coach. Lewis has served as golf coach at Cameron County High School for twelve years.  He guided the Cameron County women's golf program to three consecutive undefeated seasons as well as three Penn-York Golf titles from 2005-2007.

The golf team will compete in the Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) and the USCAA National Championship event.  There are currently seven other campuses in the PSUAC with golf squads. The team will compete in the fall season, with matches starting in August. The current roster has 10 players who have signed up to play with the room for several more players to join the squad when classes start on August 26th.

Any current Penn State DuBois student or incoming student interested in becoming a member of the golf team is asked to contact Pat Lewis by calling or texting at 814-603-1707.

Any further questions about the golf team can be directed to Ken Nellis at 814-375-4857 or email kcn3@psu.edu
