Taylor Boland would take the mound yet again in a pressure situation for DuBois baseball. In the semifinal game in the PSUAC Championship tournament in State College, PA, DuBois would be faced with the tough challenge of the #1 seeded team from the east in PSU Brandywine. DuBois would get the bats going early and score 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning off of a Grant Lillard single that would score Colby Bodtorf and a Cory Lehman single that would score Brett Beith.
Brandywine would get 1 of those runs back in the bottom of the 1st inning and another 1 run inning in the 3rd to tie the game at 2. The 6th inning would pay dividends for DuBois as Lehman would double to score Bryce Dobson, and Alex Gavlock would hit a sacrifice fly that would score pinch runner, Nicholas Cagliola to put DuBois up, 4-2.
Boland would hold the opponents from there as he would itch the complete game, giving up only 4 hits, striking out 8, and throwing 124 pitches for the win. Lehman would go 3 for 4 on the day with a double and 2 RBI's. Beith would go 2 for 3 with a triple and 1 run scored.
DuBois will await the winner of the Brandywine and York game to see who they will face in the PSUAC Championship game. DuBois was also selected as the #9 seed for the USCAA Small College World Series next week.
