Bats Do It Again

DuBois hosted New Kensington in a single game this afternoon at Showers Field in DuBois, PA.  DuBois took 2 games from New Ken on Saturday, and were looking for a sweep of the series today to start the conference season undefeated.

GAME ONE:

Hitting – Another 17 hit game for DuBois was led by Thayne Morgan (Clearfield) and Toner Corl (Central Mountain) with 3 hits each on the day.  Corl added an inside the park home run to his resume that included 2 RBI's while Morgan boosted his own stats with 2 steals.  Joey Dipietro (Punxsutawney) added 4 RBI's on 2 hits to help lift DuBois to the 14-4 victory.  Both of Dipietro's hits were doubles.

Pitching – Corl started on the mound for DuBois, but went only 2 innings before Austin Amacher (Pidgway would come in for relief.  Amacher would go 2 innings on 30 pitches, and would pick up the win to sweep the series against New Ken, 3-0.  John White (Warren), Thomas Plummer (Clarion), and Isaac Stouffer (Punxsutawney) would all throw in relief as well.

DuBois will host Houghton College this Tuesday at Showers Field.
