The Penn State DuBois baseball team competed in the PSUAC championships on Monday as the top 4 team in the conference gather to crown a conference champion. The tournament was changed from the planned double elimination format to single elimination after rain washed out all the games planned for Sunday.
In the first game of the championship PSU Mont Alto defeated Brandywine 2-0 to advance to the championship game. At 3:30pm DuBois handed Schuylkill a 6-1 defeat; as Dom Kriner pitched a complete game for the win. In the Championship game Mont Alto scored two early runs and held on for a 4-1 victory. PSU DuBois had defeated Mont Alto in all 3 games played during the regular season.
Kriner controlled Schuylkill in the first game with timely hitting from Caleb Bennett and Kenny Heverly leading the team to a 6-1 win.
