After one full inning PSUD leads Garrett College 2-0. DuBois got their 2 runs off of walks and a key double steal by Garrett Brown and Brandon Gettig. Both runners scored on a wild pitch. Senior pitcher Dom Kriner got his season off to a fantastic start on the mound striking out all three batters he faced. PSU put 3 more on the board in the 5th. Key RBI's by Anthony Caruso and Zac Walsh fueled the rally. DuBois leads 5-1.
Garrett College rallied for 8 runs in the 6th to storm back and take the lead over DuBois 10-5. A couple of bad breaks and some defensive miscues opened up the floodgates. Currently DuBois is down to their last at bat. Anthony Caruso just doubled in Talon Falls to cut the PSU deficit to 10-6. PSU made it interesting in the bottom of the 7th loading the bases with the tying run at the plate but a pop up and ground out ended the Lions comeback chances. PSU has little time to regroup as they get set to play their next game. The loss drops PSU to 3-2 on the season.
Dom Kriner's pitching outing highlighted game one. He pitched 5 strong innings giving up only 2 hits and was in line for his first Lion win when he exited the game after 5 complete innings.
