A Milestone Night for Shrefler

A Milestone Night for Shrefler

DuBois Volleyball picked up another big conference win tonight as they played host to Penn State Greater Allegheny.  The offense for DuBois was firing on all cylinders as the front attack of Allison Easton (Coudersport, PA) and Keara Shrefler (Kersey, PA) were pounding the ball down at Greater Allegheny all night.  This was a fitting statement to this evening as Shrefler also picked up her 500 kill of her career.  Shrefler had 20 kills in the match, while her counterpart Easton added a solid outing of her own with 16 kills.  Shrefler also hit her 100th service ace the evening before which she was recognized for as well.

DuBois took the first set with ease, 25-11 before Greater Allegheny figured out their defense, and came to life.  The second set wasn't so easy for DuBois, but DuBois wasn't about to give in in front of their home crowd, and continued to scratch and claw to earn the 25-23 set 2 win.

Brittany English (Winburne, PA) had a momentous night of her own as she put up 21 assists to help out her attack line.  Alyssa Simbeck (St Marys, PA) added her own setting threat as she put up 17 assists to help defeat Greater Allegheny in all 3 sets.

DuBois is now 17-4 overall for the season, and 8-1 in the PSUAC.  They will travel to Mont Alto tomorrow for another tough conference matchup.

DuBois' next home game is Senior Night, as they host Westmoreland County Community College on Tuesday night in the Multipurpose Building.
