A Long Weekend for DuBois Volleyball

A Long Weekend for DuBois Volleyball

The Penn State DuBois Women's Volleyball team had a very challenging road run this weekend.  Having to face off against Kent St. Tuscarawas, Cincinnati Clermont, and Cincinnati Christian.

They started strong the first day at Kent St. as they swept the host team in three sets.  Alyssa Simbeck set her team up with 17 assists, while Skylar Ceprish added in the mix with her 11 kills.  The women played a solid performance, but they still had to travel to Cincinnati.

Up first on Sunday morning was Cincinnati Christian College.  DuBois started the first set where they had left off the day before against Kent St. winning 26-24.  Cincinnati Christian came back with a fight of their own, and took the second set with ease, 25-15.  The third set would again go down to the wire like the first, but Cincinnati Christian would prevail 25-22.

Although DuBois would have a strong will, Cincinnati Christian's defense was just too much for DuBois on this specific day.  DuBois had 111 total attacks, but could only combine for 30 kills on the match as Cincinnati Christian would take the fourth set, and the match.

Next up for Penn State DuBois was Cincinnati Clermont, and though DuBois again would keep the sets close, it just wasn't the day for DuBois.  With last week's Volleyball Player of the Week in Keara Schrefler not able to play, DuBois would suffer defeat for a second time in the day's tri-match.

Penn State DuBois hosts their first home match of the 2018 season on Thursday, September 13th when Penn State Beaver comes to town.
