Penn State DuBois volleyball earn weekend split in PSUAC contests.

The volleyball team started the weekend with games at Penn College against the host Wildcats and PSU Hazleton.  The PSU DuBois squad lost both games 3 - 0; Coach Kennis commented that the team was a little out of synch on Saturday.  Penn College has a strong team which overpowered the inexperienced team, but the match with Hazleton was a game that she would like back.  Playing with 6 players - no subs is tough, but the girls hung together.

The following day was full of excitement as the tired players traveled to Wilkes-Barre to take on PSU Wilkes-Barre and Worthington/Scranton.  The 6 players from DuBois had just enough energy to win both matches 3-2 and earn the first wins of the season.  Scores against Worthington/Scranton were 25-15, 12-25, 25-14, 21-25, 15-9.  The last game on Sunday  was just exciting as the first as DuBois outlasted Wilkes-Barre 3-2 with scores of 26-24, 20-25, 25-18, 23-25, 15-12.

Coach Kennis said it took a total team effort with physical & mental toughness to play all those games with out any subs.  Coach Kennis & Coach Pearce were really proud how the team fought through some difficult situations and earned their first wins of the season.  The team record is 2-4 with a big home game on Wednesday against western division power PSU Beaver at 7pm in the Multipurpose Building.
