4th Annual Penn State DuBois Athletic Golf Benefit

Penn State DuBois Athletics Golf Benefit has successful day

August 29, 2012 The DuBois Education Foundation and Penn State DuBois campus hosted 104 golfers on Saturday, August 25th at the Treasure Lake Silver Course.  Under ideal weather conditions, campus and community members enjoyed a great day of golf and friendship.  The proceeds for this event go towards supporting the six intercollegiate athletic programs on campus.

Title Sponsors again for this year's event were Johnson Motors and Veolia Environmental Services, who lead the way with over 35 businesses and individuals who donated funds or items for the golf benefit.  Aaron Beatty who has been the golf committee chairmen the past two years organized a great event and we thank Aaron and the 25 volunteers who shared the day with the golfers on the course to make the tournament a huge success.

The winning team shot a 15 under par (57) was comprised of Jason McCaslin, Ian Miller, Judd McCullough, and Mike McCullough.  Each member of the winning team received a new pair of Footjoy golf shoes.  Other winners of skill prize competitions were Flop Wall Challenge – Mike Stockdale, Putting Contest - Ian Miller, Team Skins (Andy Wiesner, Karl Weisner, Ruth Ross, and Kim Wiesner).

After the golf a delicious meal of chicken and ribs was shared by all the participants and skill prizes were handed out for all 18 holes.  The event will net over $8,000 for the athletic programs; we would like to thank everyone who supported this annual event.  Please follow your Penn State DuBois teams at www.psuduboisathletics.com and do your best to attend a few games/matches this year.
