Volleyball loses home finale to Greater Allegheny

The Penn State Dubois volleyball team lost is final game of the season to PS Greater Allegheny 3-0.  The teams were evenly matched as the games scores indicate, but Greater Allegheny won several key points and found a way to win the games (25-20), (25-18), (25-22).   Dubois finished the season with a 1-15 record in the PSUAC and 1-21 overall in first season for Coach Julia Kennis.

Ken Nellis, Athletic Coordinator commented on the progress of the team from early practices in August.  "I saw great improvement from the ladies as they worked together and learned their roles on the team   "Coach Kennis was at a disadvantage being hired to lead the team in       mid-July, we only had 3 returning players from last year's team which went 13-5 losing in PSUAC semifinals.   We had six ladies join the team with varied levels of experience.  I give each of these girls credit for their hard work and stepping up to join the team.  It was a tough experience for the entire team and coaches, but they hung together and hopefully learned a lot about themselves".   "I'm confident with diligent recruiting efforts Coach Kennis will bring in several players from the region to play and get Penn State DuBois back to the PSUAC playoffs in the years to come".
