Volleyball team opens season at LaRoche College Tournament

Penn State DuBois Volleyball opens season at LaRoche College Tournament.

Sept. 3, 2011

After a successful 2010-11 volleyball season (13-5) Coach Shari Krause looked to beef up the start of the season with some out of conference competition.  Well, 10 months later Coach Krause's family has relocated and new coach Julia Kennis finds her young, inexperienced team up for a big challenge in the early going.  Traveling to LaRoche College (McCandles, PA) to play Old Westbury, PS Fayette, PS Greater Allegheny, and host LaRoche College.

The volleyball team fell in all four games 0-3, but came away with a sense of what needs to work upon for the coming weeks of practice.  Leading the team were returning players Kaitlyn Karpinski and Tessa Vargas.   Coach Kennis said "with the young players and short time working together in practice we got a god idea of how the girls will need to work together and what we need to concentrate on in practice".  PS DuBois travels next Friday to play Butler County CC and Mercyhurst North East in Erie.
