Four Penn State DuBois wrestlers will compete in the USCAA National Championships March 9-11 in Allen, Texas. Coaches Joe Shields and Dave Hoare have been working with a much smaller team as compared to last year, the small numbers don't tell the story of the quality in these 4 wrestlers for qualified for the championships.

The PSUD wrestlers are led by returning USCAA All-American John Prentice at 165lbs. Prentice placed 5th in last year's championship; he is seeded 3rd at 165 going into the weekends competition. Prentice received a bye in the first round and will face Jake Swoyer a senior from Iowa State University.

Prentice finished in first place at the Mid-East Conference qualifying tournament February 25th in Trenton, NJ.

Deontay Wadley 174lbs is a sophomore; he finished 3rd in the Mid-East Qualifier in Trenton, NJ.

Deontay will wrestle Tarek Mokhtar (Univ. Central Florida) in the first round of competition. Deontay won 5 matches in last year's USCAA championship – following 1 match short of All-American status.

Joe Knarr 174lbs is a senior – making his 4th trip to the USCAA championships. Joe's first round competitor is Darrien Walters from Grays Harbor College. Joe has won at least 2 matches in each of his trips to the nationals, his goal is to place in top 8 this year and earn All American honors.

Bryce Hanley 285lbs is a sophomore who finished 3rd in the Mid-East Qualifier. Bryce is seeded 10th and will have a bye in the first round and will face Thomas Bartholomew from Liberty University in round 2.
