PSUD Wrestlers finish 3rd in conference tournament

The Penn State DuBois wrestling team was able to send 4 health wrestlers to the PSUAC/USCAA National Invitational on Feb. 11th at State College, PA.   Three of the wrestlers placed in the top 4 of their weoght class. 

John Prentice a junior placed 2nd at 165lbs losing by fall to Keith Stednitz from Alderson Broaddus College.  John won his two earlier match in the day by injury default and a 5-1 decision in the semi-finals.  Also placing 2nd was Bryce Hanley at 285 lbs, Bryce lost in the finals to Nathan Spinetti from PSU Fayette 7-1. Bryce won his two preliminary matches 11-1 and by Fall over Jeff Andrews of Alfred State College.

Deontay Wadley 184lbs placed 4th; Deontay won 2 matches and lost 2 matches in the tournament. Joe Knarr 174 lbs did not place but also won 2 matches and lost 2 on the day.

PSUD wrestlers will compete on February 25th at the NCWA Mid-East National Qualifier in Trenton NJ.  The top 5 placers in each weight class will qualify for the NCWA National Championships in Allen, TX March 8-11.
