A snow storm kept the Penn State DuBois from traveling last week to Waynesburg and resulting in a few wrestlers unable to make the trip Thursday evening to Waynesburg Univ. Seven wrestlers competed with two Nittany Lions coming away with wins. Jake Himes won by Technical Fall 16-0 and Ty Haines with a 7-4 victory at 165. Several other matches were very close, as Joe Knarr (174) lost 2-1 on 1:05 of riding time and John Prentice lost 5-2.
Brett Himes was trailing 1-0 in the second period when he scrambled for a takedown but ended up on his back and the Waynesburg wrester register a fall. PSU DuBois will be back in action Feb. 14th with their final HOME match at 3pm vs. Apprentice School.
Apprentice is always tough and PSUD should have it's full line-up available for the dual meet on the 14th. Feb. 15th is the date for the USCAA/PSUAC National Wrestling Invitational at Rec Hall in State College. wrestling begins at 11amon the 15th.
