PSU DuBois 2nd place at Electric City Duals at Univ. of Scranton

The Penn State DuBois wrestling team led by Coach Matt Park made a strong showing at the 2014 Electric City Duals on Saturday in Scranton, PA.  The wrestling team is a nice mix of upperclassmen and several freshman contributed to the team success on the weekend.  Also, a new addition to the team is assistant coach David Hoare, David is a DuBois native and has stepped ito the role filling the departure of long time assistant Josh Knapp.

Turning in strong performances on Saturday were freshman Dennis "Bub" Lumadou (4-0), Brian Fries (3-1), and sophomore Tim Suydan (3-0).  Cashing in with 2 wins on Saturday were: Brett Himes, Riley Gunter, JP Hayles, Ty Haines, Jake Himes, and Andrew Bigley.

PSUD won the 10am match against Univ. of Marland Baltimore County 48-9.  Recording pins were Riley Gunter, Joe Knarr, Tim Suydan, and Andrew Bigley.  The second match of the day PSUD was victorious over Univ. Scranton 30-17; recording a pin was JP Hayles at 149lbs.

The third match the PSUD Nittany Lions lost to Apprentice 36-15; reconding wins in the dual were Brian Fries, Bub Lumadue, Tim Suydan.  Apprentice is always tough year in year out.   The final match of the afternoon PSUD defeated Penn College of Technology 39-11; pins were recorded by Riley Gunter and Tim Suydan.

PSUD will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 15th when the travel to West Virginia Tech in Montgomery, WV for a noon match.
