The wrestling at the USCAA/PSUAC National Invitational wasn't the only tough test Coach Matt Park's team faced on Sunday; injury bug took out 4 wrestlers that would have done well in the tournament.  Injury and illness are part of all sports, but when you get hit with so many in a short period it can be demoralizing.  The Penn State DuBois wrestling team over came the set backs and actual only lost to PSUAC champions Mont Alto by 15 points.

Placing for the PSU DuBois team were second place finishers Ryan Terwilliger (174) and Tim Suydan (235),  3rd place was Logan Shirey (184), 4th place Joe Knarr (165) & Tige Woodson (197). Rounding out the 5th & 6th place finishers were Austin Sheibley & Brett Himes at (133), Matt Rivera (174), and Andrew Bigley (285).

The overall team championship was once again claimed by the Apprentice School (Norfolk,VA), they outsistanced second place Alfred State University 188.5pts to 146.5 pts.  Third place was captured by West Virginia Tech with 122 pts., followed by Mont Alto 97.5 and PSU DuBois 82.5 pts.

Assistant Coach Josh Knapp stated "I am very happy with the way the guys competed and felt with a healthy line-up PSU DuBois would have been a good challenge for the top 2 teams".  Coach Knapp expects to get two of the injured wrestlers back into the line-up for the NCWA Regional Tournament on March 1st at Penn College.  The top performers will qualify for the NCWA National Championships in Allen, TX March 13-15.
