Wrestlers in action this weekend

Penn State DuBois Wrestling set for weekend competition.

Feb. 7, 2012 - The PSU DuBois wrestling team will be back into action this weekend with two big meets this Saturday and Sunday.  Coach Matt Park's wrestlers will take on (NCWA) National Coaches Wrestling Association powerhouse Apprentice School on Saturday, Feb. 11th at Bellefonte Area HS 1pm.   Apprentice School is located in Norfolk, VA and is coached by PA native Bruce Shumaker.  Apprentice School has been one of the premier team on the East Coast for many years in NCWA wrestling.  We thank the Bellefonte Area athletic department and Coach Mike Maney for making this match possible; we hope to gain additional exposure for wrestling by taking this match to a high school in the region.

On Sunday, Feb. 12th the team will participate in the PSUAC/USCAA National Invitational tournament held at Rec Hall in University Park, PA.  Wrestling begins at 11am and should conclude with finals starting at 3:30 or 4pm.  Ten teams will participate in the tournament with 7 teams affiliated with the PSUAC along with Williamson Free Trade, Apprentice School, and Lindenwood-Belleville, IL.

There will not be an admission at either meet this weekend, follow some of the best small college wrestling action this weekend at Rec Hall and an exciting dual meet at Bellefonte Area High School.
