DuBois wrestlers drop dual to Gannon University

Erie, PA – The Penn State DuBois wrestlers step up a level to wrestle Div. II  Gannon University Wednesday night.  Gannon entered the match ranked #9 in NCAA Div.II wrestling.  Gannon proved to be to dominate winning 9 of the 10 bouts and a final score of 39-6.   Claiming the sole victory for PS DuBois was 197lber Chike Okolo with a fall 6:23 over Kris Rahn.  Three DuBois wrestlers dropped close decisions; 141 lber Garrett Zarecky lost 4-2 Scott Bulzan, 157 Shane Alterio lost a 3-2 decision to Sam Brehm, and Pat Coleman lost 6-5 at 165lbs to Adam Greeman.

The Gannon team was competing with a heavy heart, earlier in the week head coach Don Henry's wife passed away from a brief illness.  Prior to the match donations were taken for a scholarship in Diane Henry's name, proceeds exceed $1,200 in Diane's memory. 

The DuBois wrestlers will return to action on January 14th when they travel to Penn State Fayette at 1pm in Uniontown, PA.
