USCAA National Invitational Results

February 4-5, 2011

The first Annual UCSAA National Invitational was hosted at Penn State DuBois campus with five competing teams in a Dual meet format on Friday night; followed by an individual tournament on Saturday.   Competing teams were Penn College of technology, Penn State DuBois, Apprentice School, University of Southern Virginia, Penn stae New Kensington.

The Apprentice School from Norfolk, VA captured the dual meet competition with wins over Penn College 38-6 and Penn State DuBois 33-15.  Penn state DuBois won a tight match over Penn College 28-25.   In the individual competition tournament on Saturday, Apprentice school captured five championships at 125, 157,165, 174, 197.  Host Penn State DuBois had two champions in 133lber. David Hommell and 141 pound weight class Garrett Zarecky. 

The tournament looks to expand in 2011 with several Penn State campuses starting new wrestling programs and Lindenwood University-Belleville from Illinois.
