Pat Lewis - Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Coach Lewis begins his fifteenth year as PSUD women’s basketball coach and brings with him forty-five years of coaching experience from the high school and college levels.  Since starting the program at PSUD, Lewis has guided the Lady Lions to over 137 wins.  Combining college and high school, he has 417 high school varsity and collegiate victories as well as 527 wins at all levels of basketball while at PSUD and in the high school ranks.

Under his direction as the women’s basketball coach, PSU DuBois has secured a spot in the PSUAC playoffs eight times.  Over the past five seasons, Penn State DuBois has been ranked as a top twenty team in the USCAA National Coach’s Poll every week, being ranked as high as 4th during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.  Coach Lewis has had fifteen PSUAC All-Conference selections, three USCAA All-Americans, eighteen USCAA Academic All-Americans, and over seventy PSUAC Academic All-Conference Selections.

In 2013, he started and coached the PSUD Golf program to a (31-7) record in their inaugural season, where his team won the 2013 PSUAC Golf Championship and he was named 2013 PSUAC Coach of the Year.  During his two years at the helm, PSUD golfers compiled an overall record of (52-14-2).

During his high school career at Cameron County High School, Coach Lewis guided his high school teams to five 20+ win seasons as well as three Pennsylvania state playoff berths, twice reaching the Western Pennsylvania State Quarterfinals. He collected numerous Coach of the Year honors including the Olean Times Herald “Big 30 Coach of the Year” and the DuBois Tri-County Sunday “Coach of the Decade” awards.  Besides coaching basketball at the high school level, Coach Lewis has coached golf, baseball, and track.

Lewis always stresses the importance of the complete student/athlete. Academics success is always the primary goal and the experience his players gain through athletics develop women ready to start a professional career.

Lewis plans to continue to recruit locally as well as regionally.  "There are a lot of talented athletes in the surrounding areas that get overlooked and they should have the opportunity to continue their playing career at the collegiate level".

Coach Lewis received his B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Clarion University where he was a member of the Clarion University track team and his M.S. degree in Guidance and Counseling from St. Bonaventure University.  Pat resides in Emporium, PA, where he is a retired high school guidance counselor, with his wife Andrea.
