Scott Creighton is in his 4th season at Penn State DuBois and serves as the Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. “We focus on recruiting the top players from District 9 and the surrounding areas (including District 6 and District 10) with the vision of assembling a team that will compete at both the conference and national levels.” Since Creighton’s arrival, PSUD has had four players earn USCAA All American honors (Melody Young from Otto-Eldred - 2019, Malliah Schreck from Cranberry - 2020, Lexey Shick from Union - 2022, and Tara Hinderliter from Redbank Valley - 2022.) “All four of these young ladies are from nearby high schools, proving that we have talented athletes right here in our own backyard.”

Creighton has over 35 years of basketball coaching experience (elementary levels through NCAA Division I college). Before landing on the PSUD campus, he served as the Head Boys Basketball coach at DuBois Area HS.  While at DuBois, Creighton won over 100 games and led the Beavers to their only D9 League and PIAA District IX title in the past 20 years.

Prior to arriving at DuBois, he spent 10 years at the collegiate level, one year as the top assistant at Oregon State and 9 years at Clarion University, While at Oregon State and Clarion, Creighton assisted in virtually every facet of the women's basketball program. He also worked as a summer camp staff member at Duke, Illinois and the National Point Guard College.

Before his college days, Creighton spent 10 years coaching high school girls (7 years at Cranberry, 3 years at Titusville).  As a head coach, he guided Cranberry High School to a 61-2 overall record, 2 PIAA District X titles, 2 PIAA State Final Four appearances, and a PIAA State Championship. In 1994 he was named the PIAA "Coach of the Year".

Coach Creighton is a graduate of Cranberry HS and Edinboro University.  He currently resides in DuBois and is employed by the DuBois Area School District as a Health and Physical Education teacher.  In the off season, he is involved with the Bucktail Council BSA as the summer Camp Director and as the Co-Director of “The Haunt”.  Both events are held at Camp Mountain Run.
