The Penn State DuBois women's basketball team improved their season record to (8-3) with an 87-60 win over Butler County Community College on Tuesday night.  The PSUD squad has now won eight of their last ten games heading into the holiday break.

The Lady Lions used a balanced scoring effort as PSUD had six players reached double figures with Grace Earle (Cowanesque Valley) 16 points and 10 rebounds leading the way.  She was joined in double figures by Melody Young (Otto Eldred) 14 points, Kristen Williams (Eisenhower) 12 points, Lauren Young (Bellefonte) 11 points, Gracie Hamilton (Northern Potter) 10 points, and Hope Bridge (Punxsutawney) 10 points.

"Our depth played a large role in our win tonight. Butler had a smaller roster and our girls were able to take advantage of that and keep an up-tempo pace all game. Anytime that you have six girls reach double figures, you know that your team is playing as a team," stated PSUD head coach Pat Lewis. He added, "Our girls did a great job of playing help-side defense and making them work for every point tonight."

Cierra O'Shell (Glendale) had 7 points and a team high 5 assists. Kashius Harris (Beaver Falls) had 2 points and 4 rebounds while Morgan Silvis (Forest Area) chipped in 5 points and 5 rebounds, and Laura Fatula (DuBois HS) added 4 assists in the win.

The Lady Lions are now off for three weeks and return to action at home to meet Pitt Titusville, Saturday, January 6, 2018.  Game time is 1:00.
