The Penn State DuBois Lady Lions (7-3) lost to NCAA Division II Clarion University by the score of 83-36 on Monday evening.  Clarion, coming into the game, had lost to NCAA Division I Robert Morris University 67-60 two nights earlier.

DuBois was able to stay in the game through much of the first quarter but hot three-point shooting in the first half by Clarion created a 47-21 half time lead.  Despite outrebounding Clarion 20-18 in the first half, DuBois committed too many turnovers against an upper level opponent to remain close in the scoring column.  Clarion hit for six three pointers to create the half-time advantage.

"A team of Clarion's caliber will point out every weakness that your team may have.  But it can also point out areas of strength also.  We were able to see that our rebounding is solid against anyone and we also saw that we were able to handle a quality press fairly well," stated PSUD coach Pat Lewis.  He added, "But it also pointed out that we have to take much better care of the ball in our half court sets.  All in all, it was a great learning experience for our team."
